Founded in 1969, the AOFAS provides excellent continuing medical education opportunities designed to assist AOFAS members and other orhtopaedic surgeons in providing the highest quality foot and ankle care to patients.
AOFAS members are orthopaedic surgeons with a special interest in the foot and ankle. Members of the Society have completed medical school, and five or more years of orthopaedic residency training, including training in surgical and medical treatment of disease of the foot and ankle. Active Members are certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and hold membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
